Texas volleyball team took down Kansas State on Wednesday night in three sets, 25-18, 25-16, 25-17. The Longhorns remain undefeated both in Big 12 play, 12-0, and at home in Gregory Gym, 10-0, and move to 18-2 on the season. Senior Micaya White led all players with 14 kills, hitting .333, adding a career-high four aces, and one block. She also added 10 digs for her seventh double-double of the season.
Freshman Molly Phillips got the start on Wednesday and added 10 kills, hitting .500, and tallied five blocks. Fellow freshman Skylar Fields posted eight kills, a .368 hitting percentage, and three blocks. Sophomore Logan Eggleston contributed eight kills, two aces, and a season-best five blocks. Sophomore Brionne Butler added four kills and five blocks.
On the defensive front, Eggleston led the team with 11 digs, while sophomore Sydney Petersen posted nine, sophomore Jhenna Gabriel contributed seven, and senior Claire Hahn scooped up six. Gabriel also led the Longhorns in assists with 21, Hahn added a career-high 10 and Petersen dished out five. The Longhorns will return to action at home on Saturday, Nov 16 at 7 p.m. to face TCU.
