Texas Volleyball improved to 5-0 with a 3-0 sweep of Texas State, 25-18, 25-13, 25-13, on Tuesday night at Gregory Gymnasium. The Longhorns hit a season-high .458 in the match, led by Skylar Fields hitting a career-best .667 in the match. The Longhorns held Texas State to a .106 hitting percentage throughout the match. Logan Eggleston led Texas with 15 kills, hitting .538 in the match, and recording her third double-double of the season with 12 digs. Fields finished with 14 kills and added two blocks and one dig.
Asjia O'Neal was dominant in the middle yet again, finishing with six blocks and five kills. Brionne Butler had five kills, while Molly Phillips added four kills and two blocks. Jhenna Gabriel dished out 25 assists and Naomi Cabello had a career-high 12 assists. Nalani Iosia added 10 digs and Melanie Parra had eight digs. Texas dominated from the service line, finishing with nine aces in the match. The Longhorns are back at Gregory Gym this weekend hosting Arizona on Friday at 7 p.m. and Notre Dame on Sunday at noon.
