Sophomore Melanie Parra led Texas with a career-high 15 kills and the Longhorns beat UC Davis 3-0, 25-18, 25-19, 25-9 in Gregory Gymnasium on Wednesday night. Senior setter Jenna Ewert tallied 31 assists and eight digs and senior libero Zoe Fleck recorded 19 digs in the match. Junior Bella Bergmark contributed nine kills and Junior Molly Phillips added seven kills.

Parra led the Longhorns (5-0) with eight kills in the first set, hitting .571. UC Davis kept it close with Texas leading 20-18, but the Longhorns scored the final five points to win the first set, 25-20. In the second set the Longhorns jumped out to a 7-2 lead on a kill by Parra. UC Davis continued to put pressure on Texas and kept it within two at 19-17. The Longhorns scored four straight to go up 23-17 and won the second set, 25-19.

In the final set, Texas converted kills on eight of their first 11 attack attempts and led 14-5. The Longhorns operated efficiently with no attack errors in the third set as they hit .700 for the set and finished the match with a 25-9 third-set win.
