The No. 18 Texas football team got within a touchdown late in the fourth quarter, but came up short against No. 4 TCU on Saturday in a 17-10 defeat. The Longhorn defense played well with 14 tackles for a loss against the Horned Frogs.
Quinn Ewers completed 17 passes for 171 yards for the Longhorns. The Texas defense limited TCU to 16 yards on the Horned Frogs first six possessions of the game. Ryan Watts sacked TCU quarterback Max Duggan for a loss of 10 yards to force a TCU punt on their first possession of the second half.
TCU scored the first touchdown of the game on a 75-yard touchdown run to go up 10-0. Texas got on the board with a Bert Auburn 22-yard field goal to make to 10-3. On the first play of the drive, Quinn Ewers completed a pass to Jordan Whittington for 25 yards.
After going down 17-3, Keilan Robinson returned the TCU kickoff for 52 yards. At the 4:25 mark of the fourth quarter Duggan fumbled and Jahdae Barron picked it up and ran it 48 yard for a touchdown to get Texas within seven at 17-10.
