No. 8 Texas Volleyball held off No. 17 Kansas for a 3-1 win, 25-17, 16-25, 25-18, 25-22, on Thursday at Gregory Gym. The Longhorns (10-3, 5-0) and the Jayhawks will square off again on Friday at 7 p.m.

Madisen Skinner led the team with 18 kills and posted her third-straight double-double with 10 digs. Molly Phillips had a big match, with a season-high 12 kills and a .360 hitting percentage. Asjia O'Neal also posted a season-high in kills with 11, while hitting .786, with five total blocks.

Bella Bergmark added eight kills and four blocks, while Devin Kahahawai finished with six kills. Ella Swindle dished out 42 assists and had 12 digs for her third double-double of the season. Emma Halter led the team with 18 digs and added eight assists, while Carissa Barnes had 11 digs.

The Longhorns cruised in the first set with a 25-17 win after jumping out to a big 11-4 lead. Skinner led the way with eight kills in the first set while hitting .400. Kansas bounced back in a back way and rolled to a 25-16 win the second set to even up the match. After hitting .308 in the first set, Texas was held to a .100 hitting percentage and the Jayhawks hit .552.

Texas retook the lead in the match with a 25-18 win in the third set. The Longhorns trailed 7-5 early in the set before going on an 8-1 run to take a 13-8 lead. Texas never trailed again and finished off the set.
