Hinterland Music Festival 2024 at the Avenue of the Saints Amphitheater in Saint Charles, Iowa from August 2 - 4, 2024.
Hinterland Music Festival is a multi-day event hosted at the Avenue of the Saints Amphitheater in St. Charles, Iowa. First held in 2015, the festival takes place every August and is the largest of its kind in Iowa. Alongside live music, Hinterland offers art, craft vendors, and camping. With an attendance of around 15,000 people each night, it is significantly smaller than many other summer music festivals.
Hinterland provides a diverse range of food options, catering to vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and corn-free diets. The festival stands out for its more relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, allowing attendees to enjoy the music and ambiance while lounging on blankets or air sofas, or getting up close to the stage.
This is an annual pilgrimage of amazing music for me. It’s a well run festival and I look forward to it every year.
Great music, great energy! Fantastic time! No wait times for food, drink, or water. Wait staff was pleasant, kind, engaging and fun. Kudos to the event planners. I’ll be back!

I skipped Lollapalooza for a smaller, cheaper Midwest music festival with some of the same big names. It was amazing and I hope to return.
I've attended big music festivals and events in major cities across the world, but this was one of my favorite weekends of the summer and one of the best music experiences I've ever had.
The lineup was just incredible and I left the festival excited to come back next year.
