The holiday season has been forever transformed by the electrifying energy of Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO). What began as a passionate side project for a group of seasoned rock musicians has evolved into a cultural phenomenon, captivating audiences worldwide with its unique blend of rock, classical, and theatrical elements.
TSO's groundbreaking approach to holiday music has redefined the genre. By infusing timeless Christmas classics with a powerful rock edge, symphonic grandeur, and a dazzling visual spectacle, they have created a truly immersive experience. Their concerts are renowned for their extravagant stage productions, featuring elaborate lighting designs, pyrotechnics, and laser shows that transport audiences to another world.
Since their inception in 1999, TSO has consistently shattered records and captivated millions of fans. With over 10 million concert tickets sold, they have solidified their position as one of the top-grossing touring acts in the world. Their influence extends far beyond the holiday season, as they have also explored other musical genres and concepts, including classical music and original rock operas.
The legacy of TSO is a testament to the power of creativity, innovation, and a love for music. Their ability to blend tradition with innovation has created a lasting impact on the music industry and the holiday spirit.
To commemorate their 20th anniversary on tour, Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) is unveiling a completely reimagined production of their iconic show, "The Ghosts of Christmas Eve." This groundbreaking performance, originally staged in 1999 and later immortalized in a television special, became a holiday classic, much like "The Sound of Music."
The visionary behind this masterpiece was Paul O'Neill, TSO's founding mastermind. With a wealth of experience producing for legendary acts like Aerosmith and Savatage, O'Neill drew inspiration from the groundbreaking rock operas of The Who and the theatrical grandeur of Pink Floyd. His ambition was to create a performance that would surpass all expectations and redefine the holiday concert experience.
Collaborating with talented musicians like Jon Oliva, Bob Kinkel, and Al Pitrelli from Savatage, O'Neill crafted a unique project that seamlessly blended the spirit of Christmas with the exhilarating sound, operatic drama, and awe-inspiring visuals that rock fans craved. The immense success of TSO's debut albums, "Christmas Eve and Other Stories" and "The Christmas Attic," propelled them to new heights, leading to sold-out tours and captivating television performances.
While Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) has ventured beyond the holiday season, exploring the vast realms of classical music with "Beethoven's Last Night" and delving into the depths of original rock operas like "Night Castle," their unique and exhilarating interpretation of seasonal music remains their enduring legacy.
Fan reviews:Setlist for the show at the Moody Center
Best show and experience ever! The show was the most entertaining and visual experience ever. Had everything. A great story, classic singing, great blues, super metal and rock-n-roll, screaming guitar and electric violin, and the most incredible pyrotechnic and laser light show. I wasn’t sure how my 80 year old mother would react to the show, but turned out she loved it. Can’t wait till they come back.
Awesome show! This was my third year in a row should tell you how great a show it is. Awesome special effects!
