Japanese Breakfast is the dazzling musical project of Michelle Zauner, blending lush soundscapes, introspective lyrics, and genre-defying experimentation into a sonic universe all its own. Emerging in 2016 with the lo-fi dream pop debut Psychopomp, Zauner immediately captivated listeners with her raw honesty and cinematic approach to grief and identity. What began as a deeply personal solo project soon evolved into one of indie rock’s most inventive and emotionally resonant acts.

With each release, Japanese Breakfast has pushed the boundaries of sound and storytelling. Soft Sounds from Another Planet expanded the band’s palette with sci-fi textures and ambient flourishes, while Jubilee signaled a radiant shift toward joy and hope—earning Grammy nominations and a permanent spot on countless year-end best-of lists.

Live, Japanese Breakfast delivers an electrifying experience: ethereal and expansive, yet rooted in the intimacy of Zauner’s voice and vision. The band’s fusion of dream pop, shoegaze, and synth-pop elements continues to evolve, all while maintaining a magnetic emotional core.

Beyond music, Zauner is a cultural force—an accomplished author, filmmaker, and advocate. Her bestselling memoir Crying in H Mart cemented her as one of this generation’s most vital storytellers, bridging the worlds of literature and music with graceful depth.

Japanese Breakfast is more than a band—it’s a journey through memory, loss, love, and celebration, all filtered through a kaleidoscope of sound and soul.

Amazing experience! I have been following the band for a couple years now and was so glad I got to see them live. Michelle and the entire band brought an amazing energy to the show and it was an exceptional concert. Would highly recommend seeing them! Can't wait for their next album and tour!

Such an amazing show. This show was truly life changing, what an amazing experience! Thank you so much Japanese Breakfast for a beautiful show!

They exceeded my expectations, it was a great show!

This was a fun night of music with a sold out crowd! This is the second time I've seen her perform live and she delivered again! The show featured a mix of new and older material and I loved hearing the crowd singing along. The crowd had a great time! I'm looking forward to her next show!

Michelle Zauner is possibly one of the greatest artists of our generation, and an even better performer. I saw her before and the whole show was unbelievable. All her music translates beautifully to a live setting and she is a truly engaging performer. 10/10 would recommend that all see her live at least once!
