Briscoe retained his title and then was immediately challenged by AEW newcomer Tommaso Ciampa in a backstage segment. Ciampa’s entrance and stare down felt like a moment fans had been waiting for and gave Briscoe fresh motivation as he looks toward future defenses.

The AEW Women’s World Championship match saw Kris Statlander defending her title against Thekla. Statlander overcame Thekla’s unusual offense and retained with her Staturday Night Fever finisher. The match was competitive and highlighted Thekla’s growing presence in the women’s division. Athena defended her ROH Women’s World Title against Vertvixen in the opening match. Athena used experience and technique to secure the submission victory.
