Austin's live music calendar will gain another major room in 2027 when United Heritage Hall opens in the city's East Riverside area. The new 4,000-capacity venue has now revealed its first group of performances, with a lineup stretching from rock and electronic music to Tejano, R&B, metal and comedy.
The first announced show is Hum on March 7, followed during the opening weeks by comedian Taylor Tomlinson, electronic artist deadmau5, Texas rock veterans ZZ Top, Tejano group La Mafia and alternative rock band Death Cab for Cutie. The opening calendar continues through April before picking up again with additional announced shows in October.
The initial bookings offer an early look at the kind of programming AEG Presents has planned for the venue. Rather than concentrating on one genre, United Heritage Hall is being positioned as a mid-sized destination capable of hosting established touring acts that fall between traditional clubs and Austin's largest arenas and amphitheaters.
Among the spring dates, metalcore band The Plot in You will perform March 27, followed by Colombian singer-songwriter Fonseca on April 1. Eleven-time Grammy winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Chaka Khan arrives April 23, with electronic artist Sullivan King scheduled the following night.
The calendar currently extends into the fall with Roger Waters Presents LEGACY, a production celebrating the music of Pink Floyd, scheduled for October 3. British comedian Jimmy Carr follows on October 6 as part of his Killing Jokes tour.
United Heritage Hall will occupy approximately 65,000 square feet at River Park, a 109-acre mixed-use development along East Riverside. The venue will be located at 4720 East Riverside Drive, at the northeast corner of East Riverside Drive and Crossing Place, east of downtown and just minutes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
The project is being developed by AEG Presents in partnership with Westfield, Partners Group and Presidium. Its name comes through a partnership with Austin-based United Heritage Credit Union, which was founded in the city in 1957 and will mark its 70th anniversary during the venue's first year of operation.
The design incorporates influences from 1920s Art Deco and mid-century architecture while placing a strong emphasis on the needs of a modern touring production. Plans call for updated sound and lighting systems, multiple seating configurations, a tiered balcony, premium hospitality spaces, luxury suites, VIP seating and dedicated artist areas.
The 4,000-person capacity gives the venue an important place within Austin's changing concert landscape. It is large enough to accommodate national and international touring productions while remaining substantially more intimate than an arena. Depending on the event, United Heritage Hall will be able to operate with a general admission floor, partially reserved seating or a fully reserved configuration.
The venue is also intended to become one of the anchors of River Park, the large redevelopment taking shape in the Riverside area. Plans for the broader district call for a walkable mixture of residential, commercial and entertainment uses, with United Heritage Hall providing a major live entertainment component.
The first announced schedule includes:
- Sunday, March 7 – Hum
- Friday, March 12 – Taylor Tomlinson
- Saturday, March 13 – deadmau5
- Thursday, March 18 – ZZ Top
- Friday, March 19 – La Mafia
- Tuesday, March 23 – Death Cab for Cutie
- Saturday, March 27 – The Plot in You
- Thursday, April 1 – Fonseca
- Friday, April 23 – Chaka Khan
- Saturday, April 24 – Sullivan King
- Sunday, October 3 – Roger Waters Presents LEGACY
- Wednesday, October 6 – Jimmy Carr
More performances are expected to be added as the opening approaches, including both touring artists and developing performers. The venue has also indicated that Austin musicians will be part of its programming rather than limiting the room exclusively to national touring acts.
Presale registration is already available through United Heritage Hall, with early ticket access beginning Thursday, October 22 at 10 a.m. Central for participating shows. Tickets will be handled through AXS, and individual events may have different public on sale dates.
With a first-year calendar that already moves from ZZ Top and Chaka Khan to deadmau5, La Mafia, Death Cab for Cutie and stand-up comedy, United Heritage Hall is beginning with a deliberately broad definition of what belongs on its stage. Additional bookings should provide a clearer picture of the venue's role in Austin's crowded live entertainment market, but the first announcements establish it as more than a single-genre concert hall before the doors have even opened.
