Planet Booty
Planet Booty performing at the ACL Live Moody Theater in Austin, Texas on August 14, 2018, with Josh Cantero, Dylan Germick, and Rob Gwin.
Dance to their eclectic electro-funk, grind to their original R’n’B grooves, and sweat under the intense, penetrating gaze of frontman Dylan Charles Germick as he begs you, in all sincerity, to love yourself no matter what.

Conceived in Oakland, CA by two Indiana brothers, Planet Booty first emerged along the west coast as a 6-to-10-piece funk and soul dance party powerhouse with a reputation for limit-pushing and theatrics. But it was their later incarnation as a multitasking three-piece (Dylan Germick on vocals and trumpet, Josh Cantero on vocals and keys, Rob Gwin on bass and percussion) that caught the attention of national and festival circuits, with a more intimate connection and yet an even more powerful experience.

"Good evening ladies and gentleman, and everything in between," proclaimed Dylan Charles of Planet Booty, the first group to take the stage. "We are here tonight to worship.... the booty!" As he said this, he thrust a sparkling disco style bust of a butt into the air. The crowd erupted into applause while strobe lights flashed and the band dove straight into their fast-paced setlist.

Intermixed with all the spunky butt-related songs was a smooth, jazzy duet between Dylan on the trumpet and Josh on the trombone, as well as some comedically-given life advice: "The sexiest thing you can do is be 110% absolutely true to yourself and unapologetically you, it makes you the most attractive person in the world. Don't worry about what other people think about you, what they say, how they view and judge you, be you and love your motherfucking self. Also shake your ass and be the sexiest person in every room you walk into." The whole room was up and dancing the entire time, and everyone was smiling.

Planet Booty shared the stage with Ninja Sex Party and TWRP at the ACL Live Moody Theater. The band continues across the United States with the last stop at the Offbeat Music Festival in Reno, Nevada on November 9, 2018.
