Pulverizing only begins to describe the Lamb of God live experience. Helmed by a dueling bruising guitar assault and charismatic frontman Randy Blythe, who stalks around the stage, unleashing both a rumbling vocal growl and wicked screams, the Virginia-based metal band whip up a fierce, frenzied moshpit from nearly note one.
Appropriately enough, Lamb of God have toured with metal's big names and appeared at major heavy concert events around the world, including Download Festival and Sonisphere Festival, Soundwave Festival, and Mayhem Festival. Lamb of God has sold more than 2.5 million albums worldwide and garnered over 400 million streams. The metal giants signed with Epic in 2004 and released Ashes of the Wake shortly thereafter. The album debuted at #27 on the Billboard 200, sold over 35,000 copies in its first week and was eventually certified Gold.
Sacrament saw release two years later, followed by Wrath in 2009. Wrath sold over 68,000 copies in its first week and debuted at #3. The album’s lead single, “Ghost Walking,” garnered yet another Grammy nomination for Lamb of God for “Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance.” 2015’s VII: Sturm und Drang made its debut at #3 and put another Grammy nomination under the group’s belt for “512” in the “Best Metal Performance” category.
After intense touring, Lamb of God finally returned to the studio to record their 2020 self-titled album, which debuted at #1 on the Hard Rock Albums chart and peaked at #2 on the Top Albums chart. Following the expanded re-release of Lamb Of God earlier this year, the quintet is now co-headlining a tour with Megadeth on The Metal Tour of the Year, featuring support from Trivium and Hatebreed.
Lamb of God melted faces and hearts. If you are even just a moderate listener of metal music, so yourself a favor and go to a Lamb of God concert. It was hands down one of the most energetic and powerful concerts I have ever had a chance to attend. You can be sure I will be attending another of their shows if the opportunity presents itself.Setlist for the show at the Germania Amphitheater
Lamb of God never disappoints! I see them every time I get the chance.
My fourth time seeing Lamb of God and I have to say this show was the best I’ve seen them! Randy was on fire the entire set. His energy amped the band and the crowd.
A true metal show.
As always Lamb of God destroyed everything. Amazing show.
Wow! it was insane! I loved every moment! The opening bands were insane, the sound was top notch and the mosh pits were never ending! The wall of death at the end just crowned the night for me! I hope they come down here again!
Lamb of God is not as quiet or innocent as their name implies, but the high energy, head-banging music they produce is sure to incite thrills. At a Lamb of God concert you can expect to see stacks of massive guitar amps that will blow you away with the loud, enthralling metal music that they are so adept at playing. Lamb of God is also quite captivating to see live with their members having appropriately long hair, swaying in every which direction as they ferociously bang their heads to the heavy metal music they are performing. Lead singer, Randy Blythe, has complete control of the stage running all over the place like a maniac, dumping water bottles on his head, and fiercely barking out the lyrics of his songs.
Lamb of God has a huge, diehard fan base that are just as uproarious as the band at their live shows forming large mosh pits, signaling the salute of rock and roll, and head banging to every song. Critics and fellow musicians are also fond of Lamb of God, which can be conveyed through the band’s multiple grammy nominations and appearances as opening acts for the likes of Slayer, Metallica, and Ozzy Osbourne. Lamb of God is sure to leave an impression on their fans whether it be through their dueling guitarists shredding fast and heavy riffs or the sound and pressure of the double bass drum pounding away the heavy forces of doom.
Lamb of God are a heavy metal rock band from Virginia in the United States. The band has a massive cult following, particularly as they were part of the massive New Wave of American Heavy Metal Movement. You might be mistaken for thinking that a band self titled as Lamb of God would be a quiet., meek and calm group. You would be wrong. The deceitful name just adds to the brilliance of the band. Lamb of God is a high energy, high impact, head banging, guitar bashing band that will blow you away with their sound. Randy Blythe, the lead singer, is appropriately crazy and spent much of the show running around the stage, swinging his hair and banging his head. His voice is powerful and confident and he got the whole crowd screaming along with him as he sung the band’s best known hits. The atmosphere at the venue was suitably banging, as Lamb of God’s fans were all as crazy as the band. They cheered and screamed to the heavy guitar riffs, shouted along to the lyrics and danced madly in mosh pit fashion. Highlights of the night included the aggressive ‘Walk with me in Hell’, ‘Red Neck’, ‘Black Label’ and ‘Set to Fail’, which had the whole crowd fist pumping the air.
